About This Pathway
Lessons for native French learners are primarily conducted in French to support fluency and immersive learning, while English may be used when necessary for clarification or explanation. Little Francophones Pathway The Little Francophones Pathway ensures that children develop a strong foundation in French as native learners, gain confidence in their skills, and enjoy an immersive, culturally rich, active learning experience—even while living outside France. The Little Francophones Pathway is designed to introduce young native learners to the richness of the French language and culture, inspired by the French primary school curriculum (from CP to CM2) in France. This programme helps learners to develop literacy, fluency, and confidence in French through a balanced approach that includes reading, writing, oral expression, and comprehension. Little Francophones Pathway Highlights: 1. Literacy and Language Development Blend of reading, writing, oral expression, and written & oral comprehension. Vocabulary enrichment and building strong grammar, conjugation, and spelling skills. Exposure to authentic French resources and cultural content from an early age. 2. Age-Appropriate Programme Fundamentals (ages 5–8): Focus on core literacy skills, phonics, basic grammar, and reading comprehension. Consolidation (ages 9–11): Emphasis on expressive writing, reading fluency, correct written expression, oral communication, and deeper engagement with French literature and culture. 3. Engaging, Playful Learning Lessons are delivered in an interactive and age-appropriate way. Uses a variety of authentic resources: comics, creative activities, games, discussions, novels, pictures, drawings, songs, newspapers, etc. Designed to keep learning fun while reinforcing key skills. 4. Daily Practice and Weekly Resources Short, engaging daily tasks keep French active throughout the week. Weekly resources provided to support learning beyond the classroom. 5. Optimal Session Length 45-minute lessons are ideal for primary learners.
